Senior Data Scientist

Elca Informatik AG seeks a Senior Data Scientist in Pully to lead AI/ML projects, from design to deployment, requiring strong Python skills and fluency in French and English.

The company is looking for a technical leader to drive data science and artificial intelligence initiatives. This position focuses on designing, building, and implementing AI/ML solutions while guiding projects from initial requirements through to final delivery.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end data science and AI/ML projects, ensuring smooth transition from concept to deployment.
• Analyze data, build models, and communicate findings effectively to diverse stakeholders.
• Address complex business challenges by selecting, adapting, and optimizing machine learning models for specific client data.
• Develop and maintain data pipelines to prepare raw information for model training and inference.
• Establish and optimize MLOps pipelines to automate the training, deployment, and monitoring of models.
• Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary IT and engineering teams.
• Mentor junior data scientists and share technical expertise within the team.

Requirements

• A degree from a technical university.
• Minimum of five years of professional experience in AI, such as a data scientist or ML engineer.
• Proficiency in Python or other relevant programming languages.
• Hands-on experience with data science and machine learning frameworks like scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch, along with tools like pandas and MLflow.
• Solid understanding of operating systems (Windows, Linux), network technology, data storage, web services, and software engineering practices.
• Familiarity with collaboration tools such as Git, JIRA, and Microsoft Teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Willingness to travel within the Romandie region.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
• Fluency in both French and English.

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
• Knowledge of big data technologies like Spark or Databricks.
