The company seeks a Senior Detector Test Engineer in Geneva to test and characterise SNSPD devices, analyse data, and optimise test setups in a hybrid role.
This hands-on position centres on the testing, characterisation, and data analysis of SNSPD devices. The role requires close collaboration with R&D, industrialisation, and production teams to ensure test methodologies are robust, scalable, and directly support device development and decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Conduct measurements on a large volume of devices to evaluate yield, variability, and compliance.
- Operate and continuously improve cryogenic, optical, and electronic test setups.
- Analyse complex measurement data to identify trends, performance limits, and root causes of variability.
- Develop and refine data analysis workflows and reporting tools.
- Lead device testing, measurement, and setup optimisation.
- Drive data analysis, workflow development, and cross-team collaboration to improve device performance, processes, and overall data quality standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physics, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- At least five years of hands-on laboratory experience focused on testing and measurement.
- Strong data analysis capabilities using tools such as Python, MATLAB, or similar.
- Solid foundation in optics, photonics, or metrology.
- Fluency in English.
