Senior Detector Test Engineer

The company seeks a Senior Detector Test Engineer in Geneva to test and characterise SNSPD devices, analyse data, and optimise test setups in a hybrid role.

This hands-on position centres on the testing, characterisation, and data analysis of SNSPD devices. The role requires close collaboration with R&D, industrialisation, and production teams to ensure test methodologies are robust, scalable, and directly support device development and decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct measurements on a large volume of devices to evaluate yield, variability, and compliance.
  • Operate and continuously improve cryogenic, optical, and electronic test setups.
  • Analyse complex measurement data to identify trends, performance limits, and root causes of variability.
  • Develop and refine data analysis workflows and reporting tools.
  • Lead device testing, measurement, and setup optimisation.
  • Drive data analysis, workflow development, and cross-team collaboration to improve device performance, processes, and overall data quality standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physics, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • At least five years of hands-on laboratory experience focused on testing and measurement.
  • Strong data analysis capabilities using tools such as Python, MATLAB, or similar.
  • Solid foundation in optics, photonics, or metrology.
  • Fluency in English.

Nice to have

  • Experience in an industrial environment.
  • French language skills.
