Senior Engagement Manager, AWSI SDO HCLS EMEA

Amazon Switzerland seeks a Senior Engagement Manager in Zürich to lead complex cloud solution projects, bridging business needs with AWS technical strategies for EMEA healthcare clients.

This position focuses on guiding the delivery of sophisticated cloud initiatives for enterprise clients. The role serves as a critical link between strategic business objectives and technical execution, ensuring that customers achieve their desired outcomes through the AWS Cloud. The incumbent will oversee project lifecycles, manage stakeholder expectations, and drive successful project completion.

Responsibilities

• Directing and overseeing complex cloud migration and implementation initiatives.
• Applying deep expertise in AWS architectures and best practices to inform technical strategy and decision-making.
• Translating business goals into precise technical requirements and aligning engineering efforts with customer outcomes.
• Breaking down intricate technical challenges into manageable, actionable deliverables.
• Establishing and maintaining standards for technical documentation while contributing to its creation.
• Identifying potential risks early, resolving issues, and escalating matters when necessary to ensure project success.
• Facilitating discussions between technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure alignment.

Requirements

• Minimum of seven years of hands-on project management experience delivering enterprise-level IT projects.
• Proven track record of managing multiple concurrent projects involving various customers, partners, and vendors.
• Experience leading teams using both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
• Strong understanding of cloud service value propositions and a history of delivering cloud engagements.
• Ability to present to C-suite executives (such as CEOs, CIOs, CTOs) as well as technical subject matter experts.
• Fluency in English.
• Master’s degree or equivalent professional experience.

Nice to have

• Active project management certification (e.g., PMI, PRINCE2).
• Experience managing large-scale technical projects (20+ staff, budgets exceeding $5M) with distributed teams.
• Background in delivering IT engagements for large healthcare and life sciences enterprises.
• Experience leading projects involving clinical trials, AI/ML use cases, or major migration/modernization efforts.
• Prior experience delivering GxP compliance projects.
• Experience in pre-sales activities.
• Proficiency in German and/or French in addition to English.
