Based in Geneva, this role places you within one of Proton’s high-impact product teams, working on privacy-first applications including Proton Mail, Proton Drive, Proton VPN, Lumo, and Meet. You’ll contribute to technically ambitious projects with real-world impact, collaborating across product, design, and engineering to define excellence in privacy-focused consumer software for Apple platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and release high-quality iOS applications with a focus on user experience and product excellence
  • Design and implement mobile architectures that are maintainable, scalable, and thoroughly testable
  • Work across large, complex codebases and coordinate with multiple engineering and product teams
  • Guide junior engineers and elevate the team’s technical standards
  • Optimize application performance, concurrency, and memory usage on mobile devices
  • Engage in product and technical discussions, especially in ambiguous or evolving contexts

Requirements

  • Proven track record of building and shipping high-quality iOS applications
  • Strong commitment to product quality, usability, and exceptional user experiences
  • Deep experience in creating maintainable, scalable, and testable mobile architectures
  • Ability to navigate large codebases and collaborate effectively across multiple teams
  • Experience mentoring engineers and improving team technical standards
  • Solid grasp of performance optimization, concurrency, and mobile memory management

Nice to have

  • Background in privacy, security, encryption, sync systems, or offline-first application design
  • Experience with Rust programming language
