Graduate Software Engineer

Sonar is hiring a Graduate Software Engineer in Geneva to build backend features for DevOps integrations and AI-driven workflows. The role requires a CS degree, Java/Python skills, and a strong analytical mindset.

Sonar is leading the field in AI code review and verification, shaping the future of agent-centric software development. In this position, you will help maintain reliable, high-scale integration infrastructure while exploring how connective systems can support the next generation of AI-driven workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Develop backend features for DevOps Platform integrations, covering repository importing, binding, authentication, and webhook processing.
  • Write clean, testable Java code and manage the full feature lifecycle from local development to AWS deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Contribute to libraries and APIs used by other engineering teams to interact with DevOps platforms.
  • Build and test connectors and APIs for Agentic Workflow Features, enabling agents to consume Sonar context and act within DevOps platforms.
  • Use AI assistants pragmatically to speed up low-level tasks while maintaining full responsibility for architecture and quality.
  • Review pull requests, write documentation, and participate in design discussions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, and complexity analysis.
  • Proficiency in at least one major programming language (Java or Python is a plus).
  • Basic knowledge of how computers communicate (HTTP, API basics, Linux environment).
  • Genuine interest in the AI space.
  • Analytical mindset and enjoyment of digging into data to understand system behavior.

Nice to have

  • Experience with university courses on ML, experimenting with OpenAI APIs in hackathons, or writing a thesis involving NLP.
  • Eagerness to learn how to build distributed systems in the cloud.
