On seeks a Senior Lead Pattern Engineer in Zürich to direct global technical standards, manage the internal pattern team, and bridge design with production through advanced 2D/3D workflows.

The company is looking for a definitive global authority in pattern engineering to oversee the technical lifecycle of its product lines. This role involves leading the internal team, establishing technical benchmarks, and ensuring seamless collaboration between design, sourcing, and materials teams to bring complex concepts from sketch to scalable production.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee, mentor, and evaluate the performance of the internal pattern engineering team.
  • Develop and deliver training programs focused on advanced fitting, complex pattern adjustments, and Gerber Accumark usage.
  • Balance team capacity and workflow distribution to align with seasonal product creation schedules.
  • Define and enforce global standards for pattern making, fit, and technical quality.
  • Translate technical sketches into production-ready patterns for high-profile franchise updates and special projects.
  • Optimize fitting processes, digital pattern management, and PLM pipelines to increase sample approval efficiency.
  • Conduct high-level fit sessions on live models, serving as the primary technical liaison between Design, Sourcing, and Materials.
  • Integrate 2D digital pattern making with 3D prototyping tools to enhance fabric utilization and efficiency.

Requirements

  • 10–12+ years of progressive experience in pattern engineering and technical apparel design for major global brands.
  • Demonstrated experience in people management, including supervising teams of pattern engineers, patternmakers, or technical designers.
  • Expert-level skills in CAD systems such as Gerber Accumark Explorer/Design & Marker Making or Lectra, PLM software, and Adobe Illustrator.
  • Strong proficiency in 3D apparel simulation tools, specifically CLO 3D or Browzwear.
  • Full professional fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Deep understanding of the physical properties of technical, performance, stretch-woven, and multi-category fabrics.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of a Swiss national language (German, French, or Italian).
  • Experience as an industry instructor or academic specialist in CAD/Pattern software.
