Senior Machine Learning Engineer in Human-Centric Computer Vision

Apple seeks a Senior Machine Learning Engineer in Zürich to lead research in human-centric computer vision, focusing on next-generation video analysis and motion synthesis.

The European Vision Group conducts fundamental and applied research in Computer Vision and Machine Learning, aiming to enrich human communication. This position involves leading projects on next-generation video and motion analysis and synthesis within the Zurich-based research and development team.

Responsibilities

• Lead initiatives for next-generation video and motion analysis and synthesis.
• Enhance current technologies and create novel methods to improve device interaction.
• Take ownership of product-relevant features and guide projects as a technical expert.
• Make key architectural decisions for complex systems.
• Drive product direction and influence outcomes across organizational boundaries.

Requirements

• Deep knowledge of Machine Learning principles.
• Strong grasp of 3D Geometry, Motion Synthesis, and Computer Vision.
• Solid understanding of generative models or multi-modal foundation models.
• Proven experience in large-scale projects adhering to robust software development practices.
• Background in lead architect roles, managing large-scale initiatives and shaping product strategies.
• Proficiency in Python, deep learning, and data analysis frameworks like PyTorch and pandas.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• At least five years of industry experience.
• PhD or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Computer Graphics, Data Science, or a related field.
