Clariant seeks a Senior Manager for Tax & Tax Governance in Pratteln, CH. The role leads the Swiss tax agenda and contributes to global governance, compliance, and process improvement within the Finance function.
Based in Pratteln, this position reports directly to the Global Head of Tax within the Global Tax team. The incumbent takes full ownership of the Swiss corporate tax agenda while actively contributing to global tax governance, compliance standards, and process enhancement initiatives across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Manage the complete Swiss corporate income tax cycle, including compliance, filings, audits, rulings, and negotiations with local authorities.
- Act as the main liaison for Swiss tax authorities, fostering constructive relationships on all relevant matters.
- Provide pragmatic, solution-oriented advice to business units on complex domestic and international tax issues.
- Lead global initiatives to improve tax processes, compliance frameworks, and digital automation.
- Support strategic corporate projects such as M&A transactions, tax structuring, and long-term planning.
- Identify, analyze, and proactively manage global tax risks to ensure compliance across all jurisdictions.
- Maintain and further develop the company's Tax Control Framework.
- Contribute to digital transformation efforts in tax accounting and provisioning.
- Analyze tax planning opportunities and assist in shaping group-wide tax strategy.
- Collaborate closely with Accounting, Treasury, and Legal teams.
- Coordinate with external tax advisors to ensure quality, consistency, and efficiency in global tax matters.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Tax Law, or a related field.
- Certified Swiss Tax Expert qualification (or currently in progress).
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in a Big4 firm or an in-house tax department of a multinational company.
- Solid knowledge of IFRS, Swiss GAAP, and Swiss tax law.
