Scholar Rock Switzerland GmbH seeks a Senior Medical Science Liaison for the Great Lakes region. This remote role focuses on scientific exchange, KOL engagement, and supporting clinical development for apitegromab in SMA.
This position serves as the primary scientific voice for the company, bridging the gap between clinical insights and product development. The role requires a leader with deep scientific expertise to educate diverse audiences on complex therapeutic concepts and represent the company in scientific exchanges regarding both pipeline and commercial products.
Responsibilities
- Establish deep expertise in SMA and apitegromab to serve as a medical and scientific authority.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders, healthcare providers, and potential payers across local, regional, and national levels.
- Deliver high-quality medical and scientific presentations to varied external audiences.
- Assist with clinical development initiatives, including investigator recruitment and education.
- Create and implement a Territory Management Plan that aligns with broader medical objectives.
- Develop metrics, reports, and standard operating procedures to support the MSL function.
- Address unsolicited medical information requests from field teams, including Sales and Market Access.
- Collaborate with Sales and Market Access on regional engagements while maintaining compliance.
- Share insights from healthcare provider interactions with internal teams.
- Co-develop and deliver training programs for MSL staff.
- Support content creation for MSL materials in partnership with the Director of Medical Communications.
- Contribute to the formulation of Global and US Medical Plans for apitegromab in SMA.
Requirements
- MD, PharmD, or PhD degree preferred; advanced clinical degrees may be considered with relevant neuromuscular disease experience.
- Strong understanding of regulatory, commercial, and clinical challenges within the pharmaceutical sector.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal abilities.
- Proven skills in strategic planning, organization, and project management.
- Ability to work effectively within teams and collaborate across geographic and functional boundaries.
- Commitment to high ethical standards, integrity, and scientific excellence.
- Capacity to work independently while engaging in collaborative decision-making in a fast-paced setting.
Nice to have
- Background in neurology or rare diseases, particularly with prior launch experience.
- Experience working within a start-up biopharma environment.
- Familiarity with customer relationship management tools and programs.
