Group Leader Medical Affairs (Multiple Sclerosis)

Roche seeks a Group Leader for Medical Affairs (Multiple Sclerosis) in Basel to guide global MS medical strategy, lead expert teams, and drive evidence generation and scientific exchange.

This position is responsible for directing the medical affairs strategy for Multiple Sclerosis on a global scale. The role acts as a central hub within a cross-functional network, working closely with Scientific Communications, Patient Partnership, and Real-World Data teams to align medical insights with broader organizational goals.

Responsibilities

• Direct the creation and implementation of worldwide evidence generation plans, addressing gaps between medical and market access needs through clinical trials and Investigator-Initiated Studies.
• Establish and maintain scientific partnerships with leading academic experts, clinical influencers, and healthcare stakeholders to advance Real-World Data initiatives and research collaborations.
• Analyze complex medical data to inform and guide commercialization strategies for specific assets and the broader Disease Area.
• Serve as the primary medical advisor for market access strategies, ensuring new innovations are positioned to maximize patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
• Provide essential strategic input to facilitate the successful launch of next-generation therapies.
• Work collaboratively across Roche’s Pharma and Diagnostics Divisions and the global affiliate network to maintain a consistent and unified medical perspective.

Requirements

• An advanced degree in life sciences (MD, PhD, or PharmD) with a focus on Neurology, or equivalent high-level industry experience.
• A proven history of success in Medical Affairs, including the ability to lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams.
• Strong ethical standards and a patient-centric approach to clinical development and medical practice.
• Ability to operate effectively in complex global environments, make decisions under pressure, and influence stakeholders through clear communication.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse audiences worldwide.
