Andermatt Swiss Alps seeks a Senior Project Manager to lead strategic hospitality initiatives, including a new hotel opening, ensuring governance and cross-functional coordination in a hybrid role based in Andermatt.
This position plays a central role in the Hospitality division by driving the successful execution of high-priority strategic projects. The incumbent will oversee the end-to-end delivery of a new hotel opening alongside other corporate initiatives, establishing clear governance structures and maintaining transparency from initial planning through to final completion.
Responsibilities
- Direct and support hotel opening activities within the Project Management Office framework.
- Track project schedules, milestones, risks, and overall progress to ensure timely delivery.
- Organize Steering Committee sessions, documenting key decisions and follow-up actions.
- Create management reports and decision-support materials for executive leadership.
- Assist with budget oversight, resource allocation, and general project administration.
- Maintain adherence to corporate standards, standard operating procedures, and PMO methodologies.
- Manage diverse projects such as employee housing and mobility programs.
- Liaise with internal departments, hotel staff, suppliers, landlords, and government bodies.
- Anticipate potential project risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
- Refine hotel opening workflows and enhance PMO standards continuously.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Tourism, or a related discipline, or an advanced hospitality qualification paired with a recognized project management certification.
- Demonstrated track record of leading hotel opening projects, preferably in the luxury or upscale sector.
- Several years of project management or PMO experience, including a minimum of three years in the hospitality industry.
- Proven ability to coordinate complex, cross-functional projects involving multiple stakeholders.
- Experience working with Corporate Functions, Hotel Operations, owners, external partners, service providers, and public authorities.
- Fluent proficiency in German and English at a C1 level, both written and spoken.
- Structured, analytical, and self-motivated work style with strong organizational abilities and a hands-on approach.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills, along with high intercultural competence and experience in international settings.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and project management tools such as Asana.
Nice to have
- Additional language skills beyond German and English.
- Experience with hotel Property Management Systems, such as Opera PMS.
