Senior Risk Officer

SUMMIT RECRUITMENT AG seeks a Senior Risk Officer in Zürich to establish the risk function for a new fixed-income hedge fund. The role requires extensive experience in risk management and strong client-facing skills.

The company is launching a new hedge fund focused on fixed income and needs a lead professional to build its risk department from the ground up. This position serves as the initial hire for the risk team, tasked with creating the necessary infrastructure and frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate the investment portfolio to detect market, credit, liquidity, and operational risks.
• Track essential risk indicators regularly to keep exposures within defined boundaries.
• Create and update risk policies and procedures that align with regulations and industry standards.
• Oversee risk reporting and ensure adherence to regulatory compliance.
• Execute portfolio analysis and conduct stress testing exercises.
• Construct and sustain an effective risk management infrastructure.
• Present the risk framework to investors and prospects, and liaise with trading counterparties and prime brokers.

Requirements

• At least ten years of experience in risk management, preferably within the hedge fund sector.
• Solid understanding of fixed income products and associated risks.
• Robust analytical and technical capabilities.
• Excellent presentation abilities for engaging with potential investors before they commit capital.
