The company seeks a Senior Risk Consultant in Geneva to strengthen non-financial risk management for financial institutions, focusing on operational resilience and regulatory compliance.
This position sits within the Financial Services Organisation, a transnationally integrated team across the Europe West region that leads in risk advisory within Switzerland. The Prudential Risk group collaborates with a wide spectrum of financial entities, from global banks to regional insurers, assisting them in navigating complex regulatory environments.
Responsibilities
- Assist financial institutions in enhancing their non-financial risk management frameworks, particularly concerning Operational Risk Management and Operational Resilience.
- Guide clients in pinpointing critical vulnerabilities to minimize the frequency and severity of operational disruptions, thereby fostering more robust business operations.
- Engage in consulting and assurance assignments to improve client governance, control mechanisms, processes, and resilience structures.
- Utilize expertise in banking and financial products to apply risk management principles effectively.
- Join consulting initiatives centered on non-financial risk regulatory and supervisory issues.
- Conduct specialized regulatory audits for finance sector clients alongside relevant authorities, primarily FINMA.
- Explore emerging risk domains such as data analytics and artificial intelligence.
Requirements
- Hold an advanced university degree (Master’s, MBA, PhD) in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related business discipline.
- Possess 3–5 years of experience in financial services non-financial risk management (e.g., Operational Resilience, BCM, TPRM), gained through control functions, consulting, or assurance roles.
- Demonstrate fluency in both English and French.
- Hold a Swiss work permit or be eligible to secure one (e.g., via EU citizenship).
Nice to have
- Pursuing or having completed a relevant professional certification (e.g., FRM, CFA).
- Familiarity with Geneva-based financial institutions, particularly banks and wealth/asset managers.
- Proficiency in German or Italian as a beneficial addition.
