Senior SAP EWM System Specialist (Extended Warehouse Management)

Lonza seeks a Senior SAP EWM System Specialist in Visp, Switzerland, to design and support warehouse solutions in a regulated environment.

This position focuses on enabling reliable and compliant manufacturing by supporting global warehouse and supply chain operations through SAP EWM solutions within a GMP/GxP setting. The role allows the specialist to make a tangible impact on critical systems that drive operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and improve SAP EWM solutions for warehouse and labeling tasks.
• Serve as an IT business partner by converting business requirements into functional specifications.
• Lead or participate in projects as a functional lead.
• Configure and tailor SAP EWM to align with global processes and governance standards.
• Assist with testing, validation, and audit preparation in a GMP/GxP environment.
• Deliver third-level support for complex system incidents and issues.
• Identify opportunities for optimization and innovation to drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience with SAP EWM and strong knowledge of SAP WM and SAP MM.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA EWM, whether embedded or decentralized.
• Strong analytical skills and a structured approach to problem-solving.
• Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
• Fluency in English and German.

Nice to have

• Experience working with complex automated warehouse environments; exposure to AGV-integrated landscapes, robotics, or warehouse control systems (WCS/MFS).
• Understanding of warehouse automation and system integration concepts.
• Previous experience in pharmaceutical or CDMO industries.
