Baer AG seeks a Senior Security Engineer in Zürich to design and manage enterprise logging, SIEM, and SOAR pipelines within a regulated financial environment.
The company is looking for a professional to join its global Zurich team, focusing on building and running high-volume logging and analytics infrastructure for a financial services setting. This position blends deep security expertise with a data engineering approach to handle telemetry and operational data.
Responsibilities
- Design, run, and enhance the bank's central logging and SIEM systems.
- Create and upkeep data pipelines that route, enrich, filter, and deliver security and operational logs to various destinations.
- Develop and implement SOAR workflows to speed up incident response and automate routine tasks.
- Build and maintain service monitoring tools, detection content, reports, and dashboards.
- Work with security, IT infrastructure, and application teams to integrate new data sources and ensure data quality.
- Keep technical documentation up to date, including architecture descriptions, runbooks, data flow diagrams, and security parameterisations.
- Coordinate with internal security stakeholders and external vendors to mitigate or resolve security-relevant platform incidents.
- Provide 2nd and 3rd level engineering support, including participation in an on-call rotation.
Requirements
- University degree or higher technical education in Computer Science, Information Security, or related discipline — or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience engineering and administering enterprise SIEM platforms.
- Strong experience designing and operating data pipelines and log routing infrastructure.
- Practical scripting and automation skills with one or more of: Python, Bash/Shell, JavaScript.
- Working experience with GIT, SQL, REST APIs, and regular expressions.
- Solid understanding of SOAR platforms and security operations automation.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
Nice to have
- Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible.
- Good knowledge of German.
