Senior Software Architect, GPU Networking Research

NVIDIA seeks a Senior Software Architect to lead the design and research of next-generation GPU networking solutions for AI data centers.

This technical principal architect role sits within the Advanced Development team, where the incumbent will shape the future of accelerated networking. The position requires an innovator capable of translating complex business needs into robust technology solutions, leveraging deep expertise to drive strategic advancements in AI infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Define the vision, architecture, and design for future GPU networking technologies aimed at accelerating AI workloads.
• Oversee proof-of-concept development to evaluate and advance new technological directions.
• Identify and assess emerging technologies, innovations, and partner relationships to ensure alignment with the company’s roadmap and business goals.
• Collaborate with community members and maintainers to promote and integrate strategic technologies.
• Conduct research on new transport functions and semantics to optimize performance for AI applications.
• Lead architectural and development initiatives across various fields relevant to the modern data center.
• Enhance NVIDIA’s GPU networking offerings to better support AI processing demands.

Requirements

• Possess a M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering from a top-tier university, or have equivalent professional experience.
• Have at least eight years of industry experience in systems architecture or related disciplines.
• Demonstrate strong experience in virtualization, networking, and storage systems.
• Show proficiency in developing drivers for either Windows or Linux, with a solid understanding of the other operating system.
• Exhibit a deep grasp of performance profiling, optimization techniques, and the definition and use of hardware offloads.
• Be able to communicate and work effectively within a multinational, multi-time-zone corporate environment.

• A proven track record in research.
• Experience and enthusiasm for system architecture, including CPU, GPU, memory, storage, and networking.
• Exceptional communication skills.
• Knowledge of Deep Learning frameworks.
