Vontobel seeks a Senior Web / Software Developer to lead the transformation of its collaboration platforms, migrating from on-prem Atlassian to Confluence Cloud and modernizing SharePoint into a unified intranet. The role requires deep expertise in SharePoint and Confluence, with a focus on secure, scalable enterprise solutions and migration engineering.
This role is central to Vontobel’s digital workplace transformation, focusing on redefining core collaboration systems rather than merely maintaining them. The developer will own the technical evolution of intranet platforms, driving innovation and ensuring seamless transitions from legacy on-prem systems to cloud-based solutions.
Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end technical delivery of intranet and collaboration features using Microsoft SharePoint and Atlassian Confluence, from initial requirements to production operations.
- Manage the migration from on-prem Atlassian Data Center to Confluence Cloud (Enterprise), including platform evolution and integration planning.
- Design and implement modern SharePoint Online solutions, including site structures, information architecture, permissions, content models, search, and governance with developer-grade extensibility.
- Develop and maintain intranet features such as navigation, publishing patterns, content rollups, automation, and reusable components for firm-wide use.
- Create and maintain integration and migration tools between Confluence and SharePoint, ensuring content transfer, metadata mapping, link integrity, redirects, and quality validation.
- Act as a senior hands-on engineer, leading code reviews, setting engineering standards, improving CI/CD pipelines, enhancing operational readiness, and mentoring team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or completion of a software engineering apprenticeship.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a senior web or software engineer, with a proven track record in enterprise platforms and high-visibility web systems like intranets.
- Deep and current expertise in Microsoft SharePoint, including modern development patterns and administration in regulated environments.
- Strong experience in building web applications using TypeScript/JavaScript, modern frontend frameworks, and APIs, with ability to develop secure backend services when needed.
- Practical experience with Atlassian ecosystems (Confluence and Jira), including both on-prem and cloud environments.
- Solid understanding of identity, permissions, and governance, with experience designing access models for enterprise-wide information platforms.
- Proven experience in platform or content migrations, including planning, tooling, validation, stakeholder coordination, and phased rollout strategies.
- Pragmatic and communicative team player capable of making independent decisions, navigating ambiguity, and collaborating effectively with business stakeholders, security, and IT operations.
- Fluent in English.
