Snowflake Data Engineer

SUMMIT RECRUITMENT AG seeks a Snowflake Data Engineer for a hybrid role in Zurich or Geneva. The position focuses on building secure data pipelines and supporting AI initiatives using Snowflake.

The company is looking for a professional to design and maintain robust data pipelines that provide high-quality data products. This role plays a key part in enabling analytics and artificial intelligence projects by leveraging the Snowflake platform for scalable and cost-effective solutions.

Responsibilities

• Create and manage data pipelines within the Snowflake environment.
• Develop governed semantic layers to support various analytics needs.
• Maintain security standards, system observability, and cost efficiency in all data solutions.
• Manage the full lifecycle of data products, including extraction, transformation, loading, testing, and documentation.
• Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and design appropriate technical solutions.
• Promote best practices regarding data governance, quality assurance, lineage tracking, and incident management.
• Utilize CI/CD, containerization, and infrastructure-as-code techniques to ensure scalable delivery.

Requirements

• Extensive practical experience with Snowflake, covering data modeling, ingestion, performance tuning, governance, data sharing, and cost management.
• High proficiency in SQL and modern transformation tools such as dbt.
• Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker, infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform, and pipeline automation via GitHub Actions.
• Strong adherence to data quality, lineage, and security protocols.
• Excellent communication abilities for gathering requirements and designing solutions.
• Fluent command of English.
• German language skills are mandatory for positions based in Zurich.
• French language skills are mandatory for positions based in Geneva.
