Software Development Manager, AWS Agentic AI

Amazon Switzerland seeks a Software Development Manager to lead the creation of QuickSuite, a new Generative AI application, by guiding engineering teams through the full development lifecycle.

This position is based at the inception of QuickSuite, a novel Generative AI application designed to transform enterprise operations. The successful candidate will join the team at the ground floor, collaborating closely across various roles to rapidly build, test, and iterate on this innovative product.

Responsibilities

• Guide an elite group of development engineers in defining and executing the product vision.
• Create and release software solutions that directly enhance the end-customer experience.
• Oversee the entire software development lifecycle and manage complex project timelines.
• Mentor and develop a team of highly motivated and talented builders.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to determine optimal technical designs and development approaches.
• Ensure team designs satisfy requirements and deliver high-quality work within strict schedules.
• Prioritize projects and features, manage partner relationships, and track external commitments.
• Monitor production services to maintain operational excellence.
• Foster the career growth and development of direct reports.

Requirements

• At least three years of experience managing engineering teams.
• Seven or more years of overall engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of engineering practices and patterns across the full software, hardware, and networks development lifecycle.
• Proven ability to partner effectively with product and program management teams.
• Experience communicating with users, technical teams, and senior leadership to gather requirements, describe features, and outline technical designs and strategies.
• Background in recruiting, hiring, mentoring, coaching, and managing Software Engineers.

• Experience leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services.
