Software Engineer

Evooq seeks a Mid-Senior Software Engineer in Lausanne to join the Quant Engine team, building technology-driven solutions for wealth managers using Go and modern cloud practices.

This position sits within the Quant Engine team, where the successful candidate will blend deep technical skills with strong communication abilities. The role focuses on creating robust, data-centric tools that support wealth managers by integrating investment expertise with advanced technology.

Responsibilities

• Manage the entire software lifecycle, from initial requirements gathering through to ongoing support.
• Architect and implement solutions that are reliable, maintainable, and thoroughly tested.
• Take independent ownership of specific codebase areas, driving their evolution and improvement.
• Partner closely with quantitative analysts, backend developers, and product stakeholders to align technical delivery with business goals.
• Apply AI tools responsibly and effectively to enhance development workflows.

Requirements

• Proven track record in software engineering with a focus on production-grade systems.
• Hands-on experience coding in Go or a comparable modern programming language.
• Background in designing distributed systems and microservices, ideally within AWS cloud environments.
• Strong grasp of modern engineering standards, including Git version control, peer code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and system observability.
• Professional-level fluency in English.
• Current residence in Lausanne or willingness to relocate to the local office.
• Possession of Swiss or European citizenship, or a valid Swiss work permit.

Nice to have

• Prior experience developing software for the financial services or fintech sectors.
• Familiarity with financial markets or a strong desire to learn the domain.
• Ability to communicate in French.
