Bobst seeks a Mid-level Software Engineer for its Print Engine team to design and maintain digital printing module software using modern C++20 within an Agile framework.
This position belongs to the transversal Group Technology R&D team, specifically within the Print Engine group responsible for developing next-generation digital printers. The engineer will focus on designing, implementing, and testing features that enhance machine versatility while collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure high software quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and refine functionalities for the Digital Printing Module.
- Conduct code reviews and ensure daily CI pipeline success.
- Maintain and update software for the existing product portfolio.
- Analyze interactions between mechanical, electrical, and software components of the module.
- Stay updated on technology trends regarding performance, robustness, and security.
- Implement automated tests to meet software quality standards.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies such as standups, sprint planning, and reviews.
- Collaborate with software engineers, automation experts, product owners, field technicians, and customers.
Requirements
- Strong background in Computer Science or Microengineering/Robotics, including knowledge of concurrency, distributed computing, relational databases, TCP/IP, and computer architecture.
- Proven experience in industrial development using modern C/C++20.
- Deep understanding of C++ STL, particularly containers and algorithms.
- Strong debugging and profiling capabilities.
- Basic familiarity with SDLC, development models, and design patterns.
- Experience with Git, preferably using Azure workflows.
- MSc degree or equivalent in Computer Science or Microengineering/Robotics.
- Proficiency in English.
Nice to have
- Experience with PLCs (Beckhoff or Siemens).
- Skills in Quality Assurance for electro-mechanical systems.
- Background in Robotics or printing machines.
- Experience with Azure DevOps.
- Knowledge of VMWare ESXi, cloud environments, and networking infrastructures.
- French language skills.
