Software Engineer

Bobst seeks a Mid-level Software Engineer for its Print Engine team to design and maintain digital printing module software using modern C++20 within an Agile framework.

This position belongs to the transversal Group Technology R&D team, specifically within the Print Engine group responsible for developing next-generation digital printers. The engineer will focus on designing, implementing, and testing features that enhance machine versatility while collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure high software quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and refine functionalities for the Digital Printing Module.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure daily CI pipeline success.
• Maintain and update software for the existing product portfolio.
• Analyze interactions between mechanical, electrical, and software components of the module.
• Stay updated on technology trends regarding performance, robustness, and security.
• Implement automated tests to meet software quality standards.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies such as standups, sprint planning, and reviews.
• Collaborate with software engineers, automation experts, product owners, field technicians, and customers.

Requirements

• Strong background in Computer Science or Microengineering/Robotics, including knowledge of concurrency, distributed computing, relational databases, TCP/IP, and computer architecture.
• Proven experience in industrial development using modern C/C++20.
• Deep understanding of C++ STL, particularly containers and algorithms.
• Strong debugging and profiling capabilities.
• Basic familiarity with SDLC, development models, and design patterns.
• Experience with Git, preferably using Azure workflows.
• MSc degree or equivalent in Computer Science or Microengineering/Robotics.
• Proficiency in English.

Nice to have

• Experience with PLCs (Beckhoff or Siemens).
• Skills in Quality Assurance for electro-mechanical systems.
• Background in Robotics or printing machines.
• Experience with Azure DevOps.
• Knowledge of VMWare ESXi, cloud environments, and networking infrastructures.
• French language skills.
