Coherent Switzerland AG seeks a Senior Fab Procurement Manager in Zürich to lead procurement strategies for global wafer fabrication, managing direct materials, capital equipment, and supplier relationships.
This position is tasked with creating and implementing sourcing strategies that underpin global wafer fabrication activities. The incumbent will guide a team focused on direct materials, capital equipment, and key supplier partnerships, while driving cost efficiency, supply stability, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Create and implement sourcing strategies for global wafer fabrication.
- Oversee procurement of direct materials, capital equipment, and critical manufacturing services.
- Reduce costs, enhance supplier innovation, optimize inventory, and lower supply risks.
- Manage supplier performance through regular business reviews and improvement initiatives.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop business continuity plans.
- Negotiate complex commercial agreements, long-term contracts, and capital equipment purchases.
- Track KPIs related to cost, quality, delivery, inventory, and working capital.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders and provide executive updates on supply risks.
- Coach and develop procurement team members.
Requirements
- 12+ years in procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain, or materials management.
- Expertise in strategic sourcing, category management, supplier development, and complex negotiations.
- Strong commercial, analytical, financial, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with ERP and MRP systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Logistics, or a related field.
- Excellent English and German language skills (oral and written).
Nice to have
- Experience in semiconductor, electronics, advanced manufacturing, or a highly regulated manufacturing environment.
