Lombard Odier seeks a Storage Engineer in Geneva to manage global storage and backup infrastructure, ensuring high availability and driving automation within a resilient technical environment.

This position supports a team of 15 system engineering experts responsible for a global infrastructure comprising over 7,000 servers. The role is central to a large-scale technical environment where reliability, performance, and innovation are paramount. The engineer will be key in designing, operating, and evolving the storage and backup ecosystem to meet the firm's rigorous standards.

Responsibilities

  • Design, maintain, and upgrade enterprise storage, SAN, and backup systems.
  • Guarantee the performance, availability, and resilience of critical data protection services.
  • Participate in modernization projects involving replication, disaster recovery, and object storage.
  • Implement automation strategies to boost operational efficiency and minimize manual tasks.
  • Develop innovative solutions to optimize services, improve reliability, and lower Total Cost of Ownership.
  • Keep documentation up to date and ensure adherence to security and governance protocols.
  • Administer storage arrays, SAN switches, and zoning configurations.
  • Manage Active-Active replication solutions and backup/recovery platforms.
  • Monitor performance and plan capacity across the entire storage landscape.

Requirements

  • Degree in computer science or communication systems.
  • At least two years of professional experience in the field.
  • Deep understanding of enterprise storage and backup technologies.
  • Proven track record in managing storage arrays and SAN infrastructures.
  • Strong skills in storage performance analysis, troubleshooting, and capacity planning.
  • Experience with Active-Active replication and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Solid knowledge of SAN switching, Fibre Channel protocols, and zoning.
  • Familiarity with S3-compatible object storage technologies.
  • Proficiency in automation tools such as Ansible, Python, or PowerShell.
  • Hands-on experience with products like Hitachi, NetApp, Pure Storage, Brocade, or Commvault.
  • Fluency in both French and English, written and spoken.
  • Current residence in Switzerland or willingness to relocate.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of virtualization technologies, particularly VMware.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft infrastructure components like Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and System Center.
  • Understanding of security technologies such as Kerberos, PKI, or ADFS.
