The company seeks a Strategic Planning Manager for its supply chain team in Basel or Stockholm. The position focuses on end-to-end supply planning, scenario management, and ensuring product availability for rare disease treatments.
This position is responsible for maintaining reliable product availability across drug substances, products, and finished goods. The role combines strategic long-term planning with tactical decisions and daily supply assurance, reporting directly to the Head of Planning at either the Stockholm headquarters or the Basel global hub.
Responsibilities
- Develop and refine the complete supply plan covering short, medium, and long-term periods.
- Conduct scenario planning and evaluate potential supply risks.
- Translate demand forecasts into specific capacity, material, and inventory needs.
- Create proposals for supply allocation and prioritization during periods of high demand.
- Collaborate with commercial, medical, technical operations, quality, regulatory, and distribution teams, as well as external partners.
- Present planning insights, identified risks, and mitigation strategies within product teams and governance meetings.
- Define relevant planning KPIs and enhance operational methods, data accuracy, and system tools.
Requirements
- Hold a university degree in engineering, supply chain management, business, finance, or a related discipline.
- Possess substantial experience in end-to-end supply planning within pharmaceutical, biotech, or other highly regulated industries.
- Demonstrate a proven history of creating integrated demand and supply plans, managing scenarios, and handling supply constraints.
- Have experience collaborating across functions with close interaction with commercial and/or medical departments.
- Exhibit strong expertise in end-to-end planning, including S&OP, supply planning, inventory strategy, capacity planning, and scenario management.
- Be fluent in English, both written and spoken.
Nice to have
- An advanced degree, MBA, or background in launch planning, indication expansion, partnership supply chains, or capacity expansion projects.
- Familiarity with planning or analytics systems like Kinaxis Maestro or Power BI.
