SHL Medical AG seeks a Senior Supply Planning Specialist to bridge customer needs with internal production and supply chain operations within a regulated medical device environment.

This position acts as the central link between external clients and the company’s internal value chain, including production, planning, and quality departments. Working closely with the Value Chain Manager, the specialist interprets customer requirements to coordinate internal resources, ensuring that supply capabilities align with client expectations in a highly regulated medical device setting.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the main operational point of contact for designated clients, addressing their daily needs, questions, and urgent issues.
  • Relay customer demand forecasts, delivery timelines, and any changes to the appropriate internal departments.
  • Convert client specifications into actionable internal tasks, ensuring they match available supply capacity.
  • Proactively inform clients and internal stakeholders about supply status, potential delivery risks, and mitigation strategies.
  • Assist in improving customer-specific workflows to boost service levels and operational efficiency.
  • Work with the Value Chain Manager, Procurement, Logistics, and Manufacturing teams to assess capacity, material availability, and delivery feasibility.
  • Lead internal alignment meetings to resolve gaps between demand and supply, address product constraints, and handle issues affecting customers.
  • Support the Value Chain Manager in Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) by gathering demand insights and verifying data accuracy.
  • Oversee supply plans and production schedules to ensure they meet customer expectations.
  • Identify capacity limitations and contribute to planning solutions.
  • Monitor tool warranty statuses and alert relevant teams to risks that could disrupt supply continuity.
  • Maintain precise data within demand and supply planning systems to aid S&OP and long-term forecasting.
  • Coordinate delivery schedules and provide customers with accurate, timely shipment information.

Requirements

  • Experience using ERP systems, with SAP (particularly SD or planning modules) being preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, reporting dashboards, and CRM or customer platforms.
  • Understanding of trade compliance, Incoterms, and export or shipping documentation.
  • Familiarity with S&OP processes, including demand planning, supply planning, and capacity alignment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Life Sciences is preferred.
  • At least five years of experience in customer service, supply chain, or value chain/operations roles.

Nice to have

  • Prior experience in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry is highly valued.
