Student Internship in Knowledge Management (Basel, as of September 2026, 6 - 12 months)

The company is looking for a student intern to join its Established Data Solutions team in Basel to support the Virtual Product Home and help manage knowledge and data for a global manufacturing network.

This internship is positioned within the Established Data Solutions team, where the focus lies on Knowledge Management and Computer Science. The selected candidate will assist the Virtual Product Home, a vital internal document management platform that serves more than 5,000 users and handles data for over 800 products within the global manufacturing network. Through this role, the intern will help researchers organize and analyze their information by delivering services, processes, and solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Create and implement technical solutions for knowledge management challenges within a worldwide team.
  • Collaborate with team members and clients located in the US and Europe to provide complex technical answers and support organizational changes.
  • Handle projects on their own, take part in Scrum meetings, and share findings with the group.
  • Partner with operational and service experts to assist with content transfers, build applications, analyze content, and support AI/ML decision-making tools.
  • Gain insights into professional software development and support processes within a large global organization.
  • Understand the requirements for maintaining an exceptional support structure for internal and commercial content systems.
  • Build a solid understanding of international business and IT workflows.

Requirements

  • Be currently enrolled in a university program focusing on Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Pharma, IT, or a related discipline, or have graduated within 12 months before the start date.
  • Demonstrate fluent English proficiency.
  • Show strong organizational and administrative abilities.
  • Present ideas clearly and comprehensively while maintaining an independent work style.
  • Non-EU/EFTA applicants must submit a university certificate confirming that the internship is a mandatory part of their studies.

Nice to have

  • Previous experience in software development or programming is considered an advantage.
  • Knowledge of the German language is a plus.
