Sustainability Data Specialist

Onrunning seeks a Sustainability Data Specialist in Zürich to support its sustainability goals through data management, carbon accounting, and reporting. The role involves collecting and validating Scope 1-3 data, supporting sustainability teams, and contributing to regulatory disclosures like CSRD.

The Sustainability Data Specialist role supports Onrunning’s mission to become a leading premium sportswear brand rooted in design, performance, and sustainability. It plays a key part in advancing the company’s environmental goals by managing data for annual greenhouse gas accounting and sustainability reporting.

Responsibilities

• Gather, verify, and compute Scope 1-3 emissions data while coordinating with data owners across departments.
• Design and document sustainability data flows from source systems to reporting tools, converting raw data into usable metrics.
• Find ways to simplify and automate data processes in collaboration with technology teams.
• Carry out data projects for sustainability disclosures and regulatory needs, including CSRD compliance.
• Assist Product Sustainability, Traceability, and Responsible Manufacturing teams with data gathering, visualization, and technical support.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, or a related field.
• At least one year of experience in sustainability data, including carbon accounting and expertise in GHG Protocol.
• Proficiency in Python for data processing and automating workflows.
• Experience with BigQuery or similar data warehouse systems, including query writing and optimization.
• Strong skills in data management tools such as Excel and Google Sheets.
• Solid knowledge of sustainability metrics, reporting standards like SBTi, and global regulations.
• Meticulous attention to detail and ability to organize and validate complex datasets.
• Ability to work effectively with both technical and business teams.
• Fluent in English.
