This internship places candidates within the Quality Assurance department of a food manufacturing facility. The position provides practical exposure to the rigorous standards required to ensure the safety and quality of chocolate production.
Responsibilities
- Conduct analytical, microbiological, and sensory evaluations of products and the surrounding production area.
- Analyze test data to assist in decisions regarding product release, holds, and necessary corrective measures.
- Facilitate the approval of raw materials, semi-finished goods, and final products to guarantee compliance with safety protocols.
- Manage and review Certificates of Analysis for packaging and raw ingredients.
- Execute hygiene checks and environmental monitoring, including inspections after cleaning or maintenance events.
- Help organize and carry out sensory testing sessions.
- Organize retention sample storage and ensure all related records are current.
- Draft and revise laboratory procedures, instructions, and other documentation.
- Adhere to Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), internal policies, and legal mandates in all lab activities.
- Help maintain, calibrate, and ensure the compliance of laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Order necessary lab supplies and keep the workspace clean, safe, and orderly.
- Follow all safety regulations and environmental policies during daily tasks.
Requirements
- Currently in the final year of or recently completed studies in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or a closely related discipline.
- Proficient in using MS Office applications, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English at a professional working level.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of the German language is considered an advantage.
