Technical Project Lead | Process Equipment Engineering (6-month mission)

Recrutis seeks a Technical Project Lead for a 6-month onsite contract in Switzerland. The role focuses on process equipment engineering, managing P&ID lifecycles, and coordinating with vendors in a cGMP environment.

This position serves as the technical anchor for an active engineering programme. The incumbent bridges the gap between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders, translating user needs into viable engineered solutions while ensuring alignment with business goals.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the entire lifecycle of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), including their development, review, and approval.
  • Direct external vendors and contractors regarding their technical deliverables and execution.
  • Review and approve key engineering documentation, such as User Requirement Specifications (URS), Technical Specifications (TS), design specs, and validation reports.
  • Support the creation and approval of Functional Specifications (FS) and qualification documents.
  • Translate complex engineering data into clear business implications for stakeholders.
  • Assist with adjustments related to Status CE and support P&ID walkdowns during Mechanical Completion.
  • Follow up on and close out punch lists to ensure project milestones are met.
  • Ensure all engineering processes comply with company standards and GMP regulations.
  • Provide support during the commissioning and qualification phases of equipment and technical systems.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in project engineering or management within the (bio)chemical or pharmaceutical sectors.
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role involving process equipment in a pharmaceutical setting.
  • International work exposure.
  • Technical knowledge of engineering disciplines within a pharmaceutical or cGMP environment.
  • Hands-on expertise in managing the engineering documentation lifecycle, including URS, TS, FAT/SAT, and P&IDs.
  • Strong written and spoken English proficiency.

Nice to have

  • Proficiency in the German language.
  • A solid track record in project management.
  • Excellent command of MS Office and Visio.
  • Strong influencing and communication skills across all organizational levels.
