Tender Engineer Layout (Waste-to-Energy)

The company seeks a mid-senior Tender Engineer Layout for Waste-to-Energy projects in Zürich. The role involves developing plant layouts, 3D modelling, and supporting international EPC tenders in a hybrid setup.

This position focuses on creating conceptual plant layouts for international Waste-to-Energy EPC projects during the proposal stage. The role plays a key part in transforming waste into energy, heat, hydrogen, and other resources.

Responsibilities

• Create 3D models and help develop overall plant concepts, including process integration, maintenance, traffic management, and buildings.
• Optimize plant arrangements to enhance cost competitiveness and coordinate with various disciplines such as process engineering, electrical & control, civil, steel structure, construction, and logistics.
• Review contract specifications, identify project risks and opportunities, and participate in clarification and negotiation meetings with customers and partners.
• Lead layout reviews, issue planning drawings, and provide civil input data.
• Hand over successful tenders to the project execution team.
• Maintain tendering know-how, tools, and guidelines, and implement lessons learned from executed projects.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in an international EPC environment in industries like energy, renewables, environmental technology, oil & gas, or similar.
• Solid background in project execution or tendering with knowledge in process equipment layout, steel structure, civil design, and a good understanding of technical cost drivers.
• Deep understanding of 2D and 3D CAD modelling and awareness of BIM methodology.
• User know-how of design software such as Aveva E3D (preferred), Navisworks, Autocad, Revit.
• Fluent in English.

Nice to have

• Experience with WtE technologies is a plus (Combustion & Boiler, Flue Gas Treatment, Water Steam Cycle, Balance of Plant).
