Alstom seeks a Junior Product Cost Manager in Zürich for a VIE role, focusing on traction project cost strategies, reporting, and cross-functional coordination within an international team.
This VIE position places the candidate at the intersection of project management and cost control for cutting-edge traction products. Reporting to the Site Project Director in Zürich, the role requires coordinating with international teams to deliver projects, align cost strategies with engineering and procurement, and support decision-making through detailed reporting and automated tools.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain cost overviews for traction products based in Zurich.
- Develop cost strategies, including Design to Cost and resourcing plans, in collaboration with Engineering and Procurement departments.
- Prepare project reports and documentation to support decisions regarding savings and implementation strategies for new product revisions.
- Establish regular review cycles with management to present current status and progress.
- Support the implementation of automated costing tools across different products, variants, and versions.
- Assist in tender costing processes by providing accurate product cost overviews.
- Monitor team members, component owners, and procurement staff to ensure adherence to deadlines and budgets.
- Standardize and synchronize reporting procedures with other sites, particularly in France.
- Manage end-to-end project activities, including scope, schedule, resources, costs, risks, and opportunities.
- Coordinate cross-functional objectives and deliverables to ensure consistent execution.
- Lead teams toward project success, aligning stakeholders at the traction level and ensuring consensus.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering.
- Proficiency in PowerBI, PowerAutomate, SharePoint, and SharePoint lists.
- A strong passion for project management.
- Ability to coordinate and foster collaboration among multi-site and multi-disciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong adaptability and effective time management capabilities.
- High attention to detail.
- Experience or understanding of conflict and crisis management.
