VP, Platform Engineering

Frontify seeks a VP of Platform Engineering to lead a team of 20 engineers, defining technology strategy and execution while reporting to the CPO/CPTO in a hybrid role based in the Sankt Gallen area.

This leadership position is responsible for defining and executing the platform technology strategy. The incumbent reports directly to the CPO/CPTO, sits on the Product leadership team, and manages a group of approximately 20 engineers spanning various platform disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Develop a prioritized roadmap by identifying key leverage points.
• Drive technical decisions that reduce friction and accelerate product delivery.
• Proactively identify and resolve platform-level security vulnerabilities to prevent incidents.
• Mentor engineers and managers, supporting their professional growth.
• Collaborate with the VP of Product Engineering to align platform priorities with product goals.
• Monitor developer experience metrics and implement improvements based on data.
• Track security and compliance gaps, ensuring they are addressed within defined timelines.
• Recruit top talent, establish clear standards, and empower teams to take ownership of their work.

Requirements

• Over 12 years of experience in engineering roles.
• At least 5 years of experience leading other leaders.
• Proven track record of leading platform or infrastructure engineering at scale.
• Experience building or maturing an internal developer platform that is adopted by choice.
• Deep expertise in cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, reliability, and cost management.
• Ability to set architectural direction across multiple teams.
• Background in fast-scaling SaaS product companies.
• Fluent proficiency in English.

• Ability to reason about AI and LLM platform needs.
• Curiosity about AI and experimentation with it in team workflows.
