AI CAD CAM IoT Engineer / Tinkerer CNC

Imnoo, a SaaS platform connecting AI with industrial machinery, seeks a senior hybrid CAD AI IoT Engineer / Tinkerer in Zürich. The role combines software architecture with physical hardware, focusing on integrating AI with CNC manufacturing systems.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with physical machines, Raspberry Pis, Industrial PCs, and cloud-based systems.
• Support AI applications in manufacturing by developing data pipelines for AI-driven quoting and calculation systems.
• Solve complex, unsolved challenges in the fragmented manufacturing sector with high autonomy and influence.
• Contribute to shaping the industry as part of a leading SaaS company transforming contract manufacturing and CNC operations.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in CAD/CAM environments, including API integration to extract feature data and metadata programmatically.
• Practical IoT experience focused on gathering telemetry and operational data from factory floors.
• Experience interfacing with various CNC controllers (e.g., Heidenhain, Fanuc, Siemens) using industrial protocols such as OPC UA, MTConnect, and FOCAS.
• Strong programming skills in Python, C++, C#, Node.js, or similar languages for scalable integrations, edge agents, and prototypes.
• Experience using Docker to containerize applications and deploy them reliably to industrial edge devices or gateways.
• Experience integrating custom software with third-party manufacturing services, including ERP systems, cutting tool databases, or external APIs.
