LGT seeks an AI Operations Specialist in Zürich to manage AI FinOps. The mid-level role focuses on cost governance, stakeholder consulting, and financial sustainability of AI workloads.
This position merges technical analysis with financial governance to ensure that AI usage within the organization remains transparent, efficient, and fiscally responsible. The successful candidate will bridge the gap between operational data and financial strategy, transforming complex consumption metrics into actionable insights for various teams.
Responsibilities
- Guide project, product, and platform groups in adopting cost-effective and sustainable practices for AI models and infrastructure.
- Monitor AI expenditures with high granularity, tracking metrics such as API requests, token consumption, model execution, and resource usage.
- Develop and upkeep dashboards, reporting tools, and forecasting models to track budget utilization and spend trends.
- Pinpoint opportunities for cost reduction by optimizing model sizing, enhancing caching mechanisms, and improving general usage habits.
- Oversee AI consumption across native and third-party cloud observability platforms, including AWS, Azure, and GCP environments.
- Investigate atypical usage patterns, determine underlying causes, and collaborate with developers to establish corrective measures.
- Assist in the planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes for AI projects, ensuring demand aligns with available funds.
- Help establish governance frameworks, standards, KPIs, and reporting structures related to AI spending.
- Serve as a liaison between Data Scientists, engineers, product teams, and Finance to convert operational challenges into financial decisions.
- Champion the adoption of FinOps best practices for AI across the broader organization.
- Work alongside FinOps specialists managing broader infrastructure costs, including Azure and on-premise systems.
Requirements
- Possess 2–3+ years of experience in cloud cost management, program management, IT financial operations, or a comparable field.
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of modern AI and ML ecosystems, including platforms like AWS SageMaker, Bedrock, Azure AI Services, and Azure OpenAI.
- Have practical experience using cost observability and monitoring tools.
- Show strong analytical capabilities to interpret usage data, spot anomalies, and generate practical recommendations.
- Exhibit excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical data into clear financial narratives.
