The Buhlergroup seeks a Senior ALD Scientist in Switzerland to develop novel thin film coating processes for optics and photonics, requiring a PhD and expertise in plasma-enhanced ALD/CVD.
This position focuses on advancing thin film coating technologies within an innovative setting. The successful candidate will apply creative problem-solving to design new processes while collaborating effectively with team members to achieve project goals.
Responsibilities
- Create new atomic layer deposition (ALD) techniques tailored for optical and photonic uses.
- Lead the conceptualization and technical specification of novel coating machinery.
- Showcase ALD system performance by conducting demonstration coatings for clients, partners, and internal teams.
- Write technical papers and share research findings at industry events and academic symposia.
- Assist the commercial team in launching new coating products and solutions to the market.
- Manage R&D initiatives, including securing public funding and managing external partnerships, covering budgeting, reporting, and regulatory compliance from start to finish.
Requirements
- Doctorate degree or equivalent in technical or natural sciences, with a preference for Chemistry.
- Proven track record of several years in plasma-enhanced ALD and CVD applications.
- Strong proficiency in operating ALD and CVD reactor systems.
- Fluent command of English for business communication.
- Ability to work autonomously and readiness for international travel.
