Applications Engineer - Computer Vision

Avian seeks a Senior Applications Engineer in Zürich to deploy computer vision algorithms for infrared fire detection systems on edge devices.

This position focuses on developing monitoring applications that utilize computer vision for infrared cameras. The engineer will bridge the gap between laboratory algorithms and real-world deployment, working directly with clients to translate their specific needs into functional code.

Responsibilities

• Transition algorithms from research environments to edge device deployment.
• Implement model acceleration, pruning, and evaluation strategies.
• Collaborate with customers to understand requirements and convert them into software solutions.
• Integrate with diverse camera sensors across the electromagnetic spectrum.
• Deploy software on Linux-based embedded systems with real-time constraints.

Requirements

• Profound knowledge of computer vision, including both classical and AI methods.
• Fluent command of the English language.
• Valid work authorization for Switzerland or the United States.
