IQVIA AG seeks a Junior Assoc Scientist for Lab Ops in Switzerland. The role involves routine laboratory testing, data analysis, equipment maintenance, and supporting team onboarding in a regulated environment.
The company is looking for a professional to manage daily laboratory operations, ensuring that analytical procedures are executed correctly and documented accurately. This position focuses on maintaining quality standards, supporting team members, and adhering to strict regulatory guidelines within a regulated laboratory setting.
Responsibilities
- Execute and record analytical tests following standard operating procedures (SOPs) and regulatory rules.
- Analyze routine data to verify that procedures are on track and results fall within acceptable limits.
- Spot and record any performance errors or unusual outcomes, then report them to senior staff.
- Help prepare data analysis results for entry into the LIMS system under supervision.
- Contribute to quality investigations, handle deviations, and assist in resolving issues.
- Mix and prepare buffers and solutions needed for analysis.
- Help review and update laboratory methods and techniques.
- Mentor entry-level staff on routine tasks and aid in their onboarding process.
- Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment as directed, documenting all actions.
- Provide hands-on training to other lab personnel in areas where competency has been demonstrated.
- Alert inventory staff when supplies are running low.
- Act as a representative for the lab team on cross-functional projects.
- Communicate clearly, accurately, and promptly with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Engage in continuing education via self-study, training sessions, lectures, and meetings.
- Uphold safety, quality, and 6S standards and initiatives.
- Follow company procedures and comply with all applicable regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor's Degree or have equivalent education and experience.
- Have at least 6 months of experience in a regulated laboratory environment.
- Possess basic knowledge of the assigned technical area, systems, and procedures from prior work.
- Understand applicable regulatory standards, such as Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
- Demonstrate proficiency in relevant laboratory techniques.
- Know laboratory safety and infection control procedures, including standard precautions and hazardous chemical handling.
- Have experience working with automation or specialized laboratory equipment.
- Be skilled in routine and some non-routine laboratory calculations, including averages, means, standard deviations, and quality control metrics.
- Have good computer skills using Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Show strong attention to detail and accuracy.
