Mirum Pharmaceuticals seeks an Associate Director of Commercial Operations in Zug to drive forecasting, analytics, and competitive intelligence for rare disease treatments.
This position serves as a key commercial operations partner within a dynamic biotech setting. The role focuses on enabling data-driven decisions through rigorous forecasting, market research, and competitive analysis. The incumbent will act as a commercial data steward, ensuring the integrity and utility of business data while collaborating closely with leadership teams across regions.
Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, and refine commercial forecasting models for various brands and markets.
- Collaborate with Country General Managers, Brand Leads, and Finance to create and update mid- and long-range country forecasts.
- Ensure all forecasting processes are transparent, assumption-based, well-documented, and aligned with leadership expectations.
- Identify potential risks and opportunities within forecasts and provide actionable recommendations to support business strategy.
- Define research and competitive intelligence priorities in partnership with Brand Leads and Commercial Leadership.
- Manage the end-to-end research process, including developing briefs, selecting methodologies, handling RFPs, and overseeing vendor delivery.
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative studies, such as market assessments, customer insights, patient journey mapping, and ATU analysis.
- Monitor the competitive landscape via public sources, including clinical trials, regulatory updates, congresses, and market access developments.
- Translate competitive findings into strategic implications for brand planning, forecasting, and launch activities.
- Create and maintain dashboards, reports, and analytics tools to support decision-making at regional and country levels.
- Track and analyze sales performance, market dynamics, launch metrics, and key commercial KPIs.
- Serve as the commercial data steward, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and governance, including metric definitions and reporting standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Data Sciences, or a related field.
- Over five years of experience in commercial roles within pharmaceutical, biotech, life sciences, or healthcare sectors.
- Background in Commercial Operations, Business Analytics, Forecasting, Market Research, Competitive Intelligence, Commercial Excellence, Finance Business Partnering, or Strategy.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and forecasting model development.
- Strong capability in Power BI, including dashboard creation and data visualization.
- Experience working with cloud-based data platforms such as Snowflake.
- Ability to analyze structured commercial datasets, including sales, account, market access, CRM, market research, competitive intelligence, and performance data.
- Understanding of compliance requirements related to market research, data handling, and pharmaceutical commercial activities.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree.
- Knowledge of SQL, VBA, Python, and how to leverage AI tools.
- Experience with CRM systems like Salesforce or Veeva.
- Familiarity with pharmaceutical data sources, secondary market data, claims data, prescription data, CRM data, or patient-level data.
