Associate Specialist Protein

Nestlé Research in Lausanne seeks an Associate Specialist Protein to advance dairy and alternative protein science, driving innovation through research, collaboration, and knowledge transfer.

This position at Nestlé Research focuses on developing scientific expertise in protein science to support the innovation pipeline. The role involves creating robust scientific concepts for food and nutrition products, leading research activities, and sharing insights with both scientific and business audiences. The specialist will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, innovation partners, and external networks to drive project success and enhance external scientific visibility.

Responsibilities

• Strengthen the innovation pipeline by building scientific expertise in protein science.
• Develop and test scientific concepts for application in food and nutrition products.
• Lead research initiatives in protein science and communicate findings to scientific and business stakeholders.
• Design and execute laboratory experiments to generate actionable insights for development projects.
• Transfer protein science knowledge across teams and sites to support product launches and project success.
• Contribute to external scientific visibility through publications, patents, lectures, and expert collaborations.

Requirements

• PhD in Food Science, Food Chemistry, Food Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of protein biochemistry, technology, and functionality.
• At least three years of experience in protein science.
• Fluent English communication.
