C++ Software Developer

CASCINATION AG seeks a Senior C++ Software Developer in Bern to build image-guided navigation software. The role requires strong C++ expertise, computer vision experience, and a commitment to medical device standards.

This position focuses on the full lifecycle of software for image-guided navigation platforms, including design, development, and maintenance. The successful candidate will operate within a multinational, innovative, and fast-paced environment, taking ownership of specialized technical areas while collaborating across teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software for image-guided navigation systems using modern C++.
• Lead specialized components such as tracking algorithms, computer vision modules, and 3D rendering engines.
• Produce clean, efficient, and maintainable code that adheres to established best practices and coding standards.
• Identify, debug, and resolve issues to enhance application performance and reliability.
• Work closely with software, systems, and clinical teams to ensure the delivery of safe and effective medical solutions.
• Draft and maintain technical documentation that complies with medical device regulatory standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• At least five years of professional experience working with modern C++.
• Solid grasp of object-oriented design principles and software engineering best practices.
• Proficiency with Git and contemporary development tooling.
• Hands-on experience in computer vision, optical tracking, and 3D rendering.
• Professional-level proficiency in English.

Nice to have

• Prior experience with the Qt framework.
• Background in regulated or safety-critical industries such as medical devices, aerospace, or automotive.
