machineMD AG seeks a Senior Biomedical R&D Engineer in Bern to develop and validate diagnostic tests for the neos™ device, aiming to bring specialist-level brain function measurement to primary care.
This position focuses on creating and verifying examination protocols for the neos™ device, with the goal of making advanced diagnostic tools accessible in primary and secondary healthcare settings. The role involves designing visual stimuli, developing algorithms, and ensuring medical-grade validation through collaboration with clinicians.
Responsibilities
- Design, document, and refine examination protocols and visual stimuli based on physiological principles.
- Specify and validate software for signal acquisition and interfaces used with medical instrumentation.
- Prototype and build new examination tests and algorithms for the neos™ device.
- Guide promising concepts through to medical-grade validation by working closely with clinicians.
- Utilize biomedical signal processing and reporting techniques to assess paradigm performance.
- Mentor junior engineers and serve as a senior technical resource for the team.
Requirements
- PhD or MSc in Biomedical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- At least four years of professional experience in developing and validating biomedical applications.
- Practical experience handling physiological datasets, including eye-tracking, pupillometry, ECG, or imaging.
- Hands-on proficiency with real-time 3D or game engines for creating visual stimuli.
- Experience with software verification and validation within a medical device context.
- Ability and willingness to work on-site in Bern at least 80% of the time.
- Must hold at least a Swiss B work permit.
Nice to have
- Experience working in regulated environments such as medical devices or clinical research.
- Fluency in German and/or French.
