Senior R&D Engineer Biosensing Technologies (F/M/D)

The company seeks a Senior R&D Engineer in Biosensing Technologies based in Landquart, CH, to design and develop biomolecular and electrochemical sensing solutions for point-of-care and continuous monitoring applications.

This position focuses on advancing biomolecular and electrochemical sensing technologies for point-of-care and continuous monitoring. The role strengthens the Biosensing Technologies group through the application of biosensing principles, electrochemistry, biomolecular sensor design, and surface chemistry, aligning with CSEM's Tools for Life Sciences activities to support life-science research, personalized health, and translational applications.

Responsibilities

• Oversee industrial projects across all dimensions, including resources, goals, issues, and budget, while contributing to various projects through work package management, technical execution, and proposal writing.
• Participate in multidisciplinary activities and contribute to project acquisition.
• Maintain and develop relationships with partners and participate in customer meetings.
• Propose innovative ideas to enhance operations, solve complex problems, and develop new activities or contribute to sustainable topics.
• Stay up-to-date with the state of the art and maintain internal and external professional networks.
• Provide functional support and guidance to colleagues.

Requirements

• MSc with 7+ years of successful professional experience or PhD with 3+ years of successful professional experience.
• Expertise in biosensing principles, electrochemistry, biomolecular sensor design, and (surface) chemistry.
• Experience with point-of-care (PoC) and continuous monitoring technologies.
• Knowledge of chemical synthesis, design of experiments (ideally AI-driven), and modern data processing is advantageous.
• Industry background in sensor production is an asset.
