The Central Compliance team at Julius Bär is seeking a Working Student to assist with second-line compliance monitoring. This position provides practical experience in control operations and regulatory frameworks, allowing the candidate to contribute directly to the team's objective of maintaining robust internal controls and high compliance standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in organizing and carrying out regular compliance control tasks, such as gathering data, selecting samples, and reviewing initial evidence.
  • Check documentation submitted by Client-Facing Units to ensure it meets established control criteria.
  • Keep control tracking tools updated with precise records and properly archive test evidence.
  • Create draft analyses, summaries, and presentation slides for internal reporting and management updates.
  • Help manage deficiency processes by tracking follow-ups and resolutions.
  • Take part in process improvement efforts, including exploring automation, enhancing digital tools, or reviewing policies.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Law, Economics, Risk Management, or a closely related discipline.
  • Strong proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (pivot tables, lookups) and PowerPoint (executive presentations).
  • Fluent command of English in both written and spoken communication.

Nice to have

  • A genuine interest in financial compliance, regulatory frameworks, and private banking operations.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage timelines and multiple small assignments simultaneously.
  • Highly motivated and self-driven student with proactive mindset and attitude.
