KPMG AG in Zürich seeks a Consultant or Senior Consultant for its Deal Advisory Tech CoE. The role focuses on technology due diligence, integration, and strategy within M&A transactions across the Swiss economy.

This position is embedded within a collaborative and expanding team that partners with organizations throughout the Swiss economy. The primary focus involves advising clients on how technology, data, AI, and digital capabilities impact deal strategies and outcomes. Team members gain direct exposure to senior stakeholders while developing expertise in technology and M&A through hands-on transaction work.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with technology-driven M&A projects throughout the entire transaction lifecycle, covering due diligence, integration, and separation efforts.
  • Evaluate and organize intricate technology environments, including infrastructure, applications, cybersecurity, data assets, contracts, and costs.
  • Create and support technology due diligence reports that highlight risks, value drivers, and opportunities influencing valuation and transaction decisions.
  • Convert technical findings into actionable business insights, connecting technology factors to operational strategies, synergies, and deal value.
  • Advise clients on technology integration and separation strategies, including target operating models, IT landscapes, TSA frameworks, and implementation plans.
  • Collaborate within multidisciplinary deal teams to manage technology workstreams and identify potential synergies.
  • Build a deep understanding of technology benchmarks and best practices to evaluate fit-for-purpose technology functions in transaction contexts.
  • Partner with senior professionals to manage transaction exposures while continuously expanding technical and M&A capabilities.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a closely related discipline, accompanied by a strong academic performance.
  • Between zero and three years of professional experience in technology strategy, IT within M&A, technology due diligence, or data-driven advisory services.
  • Proven project experience involving due diligence processes or relevant strategy and technology subjects.
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving abilities, along with mental agility to handle operational, financial, and technology matters in a rapid deal environment.
  • Capacity to perform under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders.
  • Intellectual curiosity, resourcefulness, and a readiness to take calculated risks while maintaining the confidence to challenge senior leadership when necessary.
  • Fluency in both German and English is mandatory; French or Italian proficiency is a plus.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed.
