Roger Dubuis seeks a Data Engineer to build scalable data pipelines and manage Looker analytics within a dynamic team focused on impactful business applications.
This position serves as the cornerstone of the data infrastructure, bridging the gap between technical systems and business intelligence. The engineer will design robust, governed pipelines that power insights in Looker, enabling data-driven decisions while working alongside a talented group focused on analytics and artificial intelligence.
Responsibilities
- Construct and sustain the data and business intelligence infrastructure supporting analytics and machine learning projects.
- Create scalable data pipelines while guaranteeing high data quality standards.
- Develop self-service analytics tools and BI products for the wider organization.
- Design business-ready data models and high-performance reporting dashboards within the Cartier Data Office.
- Configure and manage Looker dashboards and explores to translate complex business queries into clear insights.
- Educate users on maximizing the value of the Looker platform.
- Implement dbt models and dimensional data marts using software engineering best practices.
- Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines via Airflow or Apache Composer for seamless BigQuery ingestion.
- Oversee data platform health, resolve quality issues, and enforce data governance and access controls.
- Maintain data definitions and lineage to ensure Looker remains the single source of truth.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
- 3-5 years of professional experience in data engineering or analytics engineering.
- Strong proficiency in Looker (LookML) or PowerBI, along with SQL and DBT.
- Deep understanding of Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery) and expert-level skills in SQL and Python.
- Experience building pipelines with Airflow/Apache Composer.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment using an Agile/DevOps operating model.
