Data Scraping & Analytics Internship

Splint Invest seeks a Data Scraping & Analytics Intern in Bern to support its investment team with data collection, management, and analysis for alternative assets.

This internship provides hands-on experience within a fast-growing Swiss fintech company. The position focuses on enabling investment in real assets such as art, cars, wine, and whisky by ensuring the investment team has accurate, well-managed, and documented data to drive valuation and market analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop and upkeep automated data extraction pipelines using Python libraries like Beautiful Soup, Selenium, or Scrapy.
• Gather auction outcomes, benchmark figures, and market insights from various websites, APIs, and other digital sources.
• Create and manage a robust database to facilitate asset valuation and broader market analysis.
• Clean, validate, and organize raw data to prepare valuation updates for the analytical team.
• Perform data analysis and maintain internal reporting using SQL, Excel, or Google Sheets.
• Support the creation of investor materials, including booklets, dashboards, and internal presentations.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in or recently completed studies in Data Science, Computer Science, Finance, Economics, Business, or a closely related discipline.
• Possess foundational Python skills and a genuine interest in web scraping and automated data collection methods.
• Demonstrate strong attention to detail and maintain a structured, organized approach to tasks.
• Communicate effectively in written and spoken English.

Nice to have

• Experience with Excel or Google Sheets; knowledge of SQL is advantageous.
• A personal interest in alternative assets such as art, wine, automobiles, or collectibles.
• Proficiency in German or French is considered a plus.
• A proactive, hands-on attitude with a strong willingness to learn from the start.
