WinGD seeks a mid-level expert to support classification of new fuel technologies for marine engines in Winterthur, CH. The role involves managing approvals, maintaining technical databases, and shaping international rules for future fuels.
This position supports WinGD’s efforts to secure design and type approvals for its technologies from classification societies, with a focus on emerging fuel solutions. It plays a key role in influencing international and class-specific regulations for new fuels, contributing to the company’s leadership in sustainable marine propulsion.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain relationships with classification societies
- Coordinate design and type approvals for WinGD’s technologies
- Assist internal teams and engine manufacturers with classification-related tasks
- Collect, study, and organize rules and standards from classification bodies and normative institutes, especially for new fuel technologies
- Actively contribute to the development of international and class rules for new fuels
- Manage Classification Portals and internal IM tools
- Maintain Spare Part Lists and Parts Acceptance Databases
Requirements
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or equivalent degree in mechanical engineering
- Strong understanding of 2-stroke marine diesel and dual fuel engines
- Willingness to travel internationally several times per year
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
- Self-motivated, organized, and goal-oriented approach
- Fluent English proficiency
- Proactive and independent work style
- Team-oriented mindset
Nice to have
- Experience or knowledge in alternative fuel technologies
- Fluent German language skills
