Expert Engine

The company is looking for a Senior Expert Engine to handle on-site commissioning, troubleshooting, and technical consulting for marine engines in Winterthur, Switzerland.

This position focuses on providing on-site technical consulting and troubleshooting for marine engine commissioning. The role ensures accurate documentation of field activities, project controlling, and adherence to safety standards. The expert will collaborate with engineers to solve complex technical issues and continuously update technical knowledge through training.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site consulting and troubleshooting for commissioning tasks.
• Maintain detailed records of field activities, service reports, and maintenance logs for compliance.
• Manage project controlling, including recording hours, tracking expenditure and income, and forwarding data for invoicing.
• Ensure strict adherence to safety standards and regulatory requirements during all field activities.
• Collaborate with engineers and other parties to share insights and develop comprehensive solutions for complex technical issues.
• Continuously update technical skills and knowledge through training and education on the latest advancements in marine engine technology and service practices.

Requirements

• MSc in Mechanical Engineering.
• Deep understanding of 2-stroke engine performance, thermodynamics, vibrations, materials, and structures.
• Experience in 2-stroke engine service and operation, including automation systems and electronics.
• Background in equipment, electrical, or electronics-related fields, or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on experience with safety standards in field operations.
• Strengths in troubleshooting, measurements on board, or high-complexity work like software updates and onboard tuning.
• Experience or ability to support effective management of field service projects and coordination with teams.
• Proficiency in PC user software and basic PC setup skills.
• Ability to interpret and create documents in English and communicate effectively.
• Self-driven and self-critical working behavior with a focus on continuous improvement.
