Accelleron Industries, a global leader in turbocharging and digital solutions for marine and energy sectors, seeks an R&D Engineer (m/f/d) to join their compressor & turbine team in Baden, CH. The role involves designing and validating compressors, shaping technology roadmaps, and supporting turbine development in a hybrid work environment.
The R&D Engineer will serve as a component owner within the compressor & turbine team, overseeing the full lifecycle of compressor design—from initial development and product validation to manufacturing support. This role is central to Accelleron’s mission of advancing sustainable technologies in heavy-duty applications, working alongside experts in an international, innovation-driven environment.
Responsibilities
- Design compressors with focus on aerothermodynamics, mechanical integrity, and materials
- Lead product validation and qualification processes for compressor components
- Contribute to advanced concept studies related to compressor technology
- Help shape the long-term Compressor Technology Roadmap
- Act as internal liaison for all product lines on compressor-related matters
- Collaborate with internal and external test facilities for compressor testing and validation
- Provide support for turbine development initiatives
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification
- Minimum 5 years of experience in compressor development
- Strong knowledge of turbomachinery principles
- Solid background in aerodynamics, thermodynamics, and mechanical integrity
- Experience using 3D CFD tools and FEM for analysis
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and Matlab
- Familiarity with compressor testing and validation procedures
- Open-minded approach and strong interpersonal abilities
- Proven experience in compressor design, demonstrated through patents or publications
- High level of organizational skills and self-motivation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Fluency in both English and German
