FEED Lead Facilities and Utilities (F&U)

Takeda Pharma AG seeks a Senior FEED Lead for Facilities and Utilities in Zürich. This role establishes global engineering standards for pharmaceutical manufacturing infrastructure and drives sustainability and design excellence.

The company is looking for a global authority to lead facility, utility, and infrastructure design within its Global Engineering division. This position defines engineering strategies during early investment and Front-End Engineering Design phases, aiming to standardize processes and enhance sustainability across the worldwide capital expenditure portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain global engineering standards, methodologies, and design principles for facilities and utilities during early investment and FEED stages.
• Create and oversee frameworks for plant layouts, cleanroom designs, HVAC strategies, utility systems, and general infrastructure.
• Provide expert advice on critical engineering choices, including system redundancy, infrastructure resilience, and the distinction between clean and black utilities.
• Set technical quality benchmarks for key FEED outputs such as facility concepts, zoning plans, utility architectures, and sustainability metrics.
• Promote innovation by assessing new technologies, modularization methods, and energy-saving solutions.
• Identify and mitigate risks related to constructability, operational complexity, utility capacity, and long-term performance.
• Lead technical governance reviews and hold decision-making authority for major investment projects.
• Develop global capabilities by mentoring staff, sharing knowledge, and implementing reusable best practices.

Requirements

• A degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Process, Civil, Building Services, Utilities, Energy Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Significant experience working in pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, or other highly regulated manufacturing settings.
• Proven background in FEED, concept development, facilities design, utilities engineering, or front-end engineering.
• Strong track record of defining and governing standards for HVAC, cleanrooms, utilities, infrastructure, and sustainability across multiple sites.
• Comprehensive knowledge of clean and black utility systems, facility layouts, cleanroom concepts, energy efficiency, and infrastructure resilience.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and align cross-functional global teams.
• Excellent communication skills to translate complex engineering data into clear business recommendations.
